It’s more than just a place to eat; it’s an experience rooted in the rich maritime heritage of the region, offering patrons a genuine connection to the ocean’s bounty.
The philosophy driving Andrias Seafood is simple yet profound: source the freshest catches available and prepare them with respect for their natural flavor. This commitment to quality permeates every aspect of their operation, from the careful selection of daily specials to the meticulous preparation of classic dishes. For locals and visitors alike seeking an unparalleled seafood dining adventure in Ventura County, Andrias Seafood represents a benchmark of excellence.
Ventura, with its proximity to prime fishing grounds, provides the perfect backdrop for a restaurant dedicated to seafood. Andrias leverages this geographical advantage, ensuring that the journey from the boat to the plate is as short and efficient as possible. This dedication to freshness is what truly sets the dining experience apart, transforming a simple meal into a memorable culinary event.
Key Highlights of the Andrias Seafood Experience
What makes Andrias Seafood a must-visit destination along the California coast? Several core elements contribute to its esteemed reputation:
Unwavering Commitment to Freshness: The cornerstone of Andrias Seafood is its dedication to sourcing the freshest possible ingredients. This means an ever-evolving menu that reflects the daily yield of the local waters. Patrons can trust that what they are served is of the highest caliber, often featuring seasonal specialties that highlight the best of what the Pacific has to offer at that specific time. This focus on ingredient integrity is paramount to their culinary identity.
Authentic Coastal Atmosphere: Situated near the water, the restaurant successfully captures the relaxed yet sophisticated ambiance of coastal California dining. The setting complements the menu perfectly, providing a comfortable and inviting environment where guests can unwind and savor their meal. It’s an atmosphere that encourages lingering, allowing diners to fully absorb the seaside locale.
Expert Preparation Techniques: While the ingredients are the stars, the skill of the kitchen staff ensures they shine. Andrias Seafood employs preparation methods that enhance, rather than mask, the inherent flavors of the seafood. Whether grilled, pan-seared, or served raw, each dish is executed with precision, demonstrating a deep understanding of culinary technique applied to marine proteins.
Prime Location Accessibility: Conveniently located at 1449 Spinnaker Dr A, the restaurant is easily accessible for those exploring Ventura or stopping by on a coastal drive. Its location makes it an ideal spot for a midday lunch or a relaxed evening dinner after a day spent enjoying the local attractions.
A Deep Dive into Culinary Integrity
The menu at Andrias Seafood is designed to cater to both the adventurous eater keen on trying the catch of the day and those who prefer time-honored seafood staples. The preparation often leans towards simplicity, allowing the inherent quality of the fish and shellfish to speak for itself. This approach requires absolute confidence in the supply chain, a confidence Andrias has earned through years of building strong relationships with local purveyors and fishermen.
Consider the preparation of their signature items; they often involve minimal seasoning, perhaps just high-quality olive oil, fresh herbs, and a squeeze of citrus. This minimalist philosophy is a hallmark of truly great seafood establishments. It signals respect for the product and an understanding that when seafood is this fresh, it needs very little embellishment to achieve perfection.
Furthermore, the service aims to mirror the quality of the food. Staff are typically knowledgeable about the daily offerings, capable of guiding patrons through the nuances of different fish varieties or suggesting the perfect pairing from their selection of beverages. This level of informed service elevates the overall dining experience from transactional to truly hospitable.
Concluding Thoughts on the Ventura Seafood Scene
Andrias Seafood is more than just a point on the map for dining in Ventura; it represents a dedication to the craft of preparing seafood responsibly and deliciously. For anyone seeking an authentic taste of the California coast, anchored by unparalleled freshness and expert execution, a visit to their location at 1449 Spinnaker Dr A is highly recommended. It is a place where the ocean’s bounty is celebrated daily, ensuring every plate tells a story of quality and care. Andrias Seafood continues to be a vital and celebrated part of the local culinary landscape, promising a satisfying and memorable encounter with the best of Pacific seafood.

Fish was double the price! It surprised us. The cold slaw had to be returned for dressing. But, that said, the views, people and assorted condiments were still SO good! The Andrea’s original fish and chips were not available… More

The fish & chips were really good, but the scallops were even better perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Plus, you can’t beat the view of the ocean here. A great spot to relax, eat, and enjoy the sea. Definitely worth a visit! More

Excellent experience! Staff was friendly, food was delicious, and the view was great! There was a bit of a line, but very little wait. I’m glad we were not intimidated by the line, as there was a line for a reason! Andria’s is definitely one of the best fish market restaurants I’ve been to in a while. It’s hard to find good seafood in SoCal, and I think that Andria’s was phenomenal! We ordered two small chowders and split a Captain’s Platter… and this was a lot of food! Add in tip and drinks, and our total came to $60ish. I can’t wait to come back and try more items on their menu!

Ha. I’d say Ralph’s freezer food served in a picnic setting on the bay. Food was like Ralph’s freezer. Freezer burn and bleh. I like good food especially seafood. This is just mass produced crap. Thx More

Food came out borderline cold except for the clam chowder. All the seafood seems like it was frozen with no flavor. Clam chowder seemed like it was premade not much seafood flavor but very creamy.
My BIL said that the best part of his grilled fish plate was the coleslaw 🤣. Only thing that was decent were the fried oysters.
0/10 would not eat here again. I’d rather eat Tacobell or in n out.
Also closing time is 8pm not 9 as listed.

The fish and chips was delicious and the service was great too. The only thing I was unimpressed about was the price being outrageous! It's 30$ for a plate. I couldn't believe it. 3 people cost 150$ for the plates , drinks, and a slice of … More

Whenever I’m in western Ventura county, I always try and stop in for Andria’s famous fish and chips. Generous portions and fresh crisp batter that the fish are fried in. On a recent visit, I ordered their famous fish and chips. Other members of my party ordered clam chowder, served steaming hot as well as fresh shrimp skewers along with generous green salad and steaming hot rice .
Everybody agreed the dining experience was awesome in the picturesque harbor .
One side note , the parking area is enforced by a parking enforcement officer on Friday, Saturday and Sunday . The harbor district only recently started doing this. There are signs posted and the process to get the parking permit is digital. Parking enforcement officers will issue digital tickets !

THE best place to get fish & chips! They are always perfectly done. Sometimes I get their cole slaw instead of the fries for a change of pace. Add in the tartar sauce, malt vinegar, & lemon and it's perfection. More

This is very casual spot right on the harbor. We ordered a variety of dishes, including mahi-mahi, snapper, and chicken and fries from the kids' menu.
The mahi-mahi was quite bitter, which wasn't to my taste. I also wasn't a fan of the pasta salad and coleslaw; the sauces had a flavor that seemed a bit off, but it's possible that's just their style. The snapper, however, was much better and I really enjoyed the rice that came with the fish. The kids' food was good and they were happy with their meal.
Overall, it's a solid 3,5-star experience.

This place is amazing. I really enjoyed the Halibut fish and chips. They are very crispy and tasty. the french fries were delicious. The place is so good with their menu and service. There's always a place to sit and eat even when the line is long. The atmosphere is near the Marina and pleasant. It's worth the drive coming from the San Fernando Valley area for a delicious meal.

We had the halibut fish and chips and a bowl of clam chowder. While the clam chowder was tasty I was extremely disappointed with the Halibut Fish and Chips. Looks really great but had zero flavor. Maybe they forgot to season the fish but it tasted so bland. The food was way over priced and not worth it to me. More

Fantastic seafood, quality and service!! Every time we visit Ventura, this is the only place we go to eat! There is a large variety of fish to choose and we always get grilled fish that is cooked excellently! The price for grilled fish is insanely affordable. Every fish dish comes with 2 sides and the meals are a hearty portion. We love sitting on the patio that overlooks the ocean and the ambience is casually cozy.

It wasn't the best halibut fish & chips I've ever had, which is what I was hoping for, to be blown away. It was good though, portion size was enough for 2 ppl, which was good since it was $30 for 5 pieces plus fries. Atmosphere definitely can't be beat however, sitting right on the marina. Everyone was very nice. More

It's a walk up and order, casual laid back, and beachy. We ordered fish and chips, clam chowder and coleslaw., food came out quick you get your condiments from a self serve area that is kept stocked and cleaned by employees and it was clean. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The food tasted freshly made and very delicious the portions were large, we probably could have shared but it was nice having leftovers for later. There's quite a bit of seating we had no wait time.
